Depicted are the 29 commercial spaces that are in my immediate neighborhood, paired with printed matter they have produced (if the spaces are currently occupied by businesses). Titles reflect what most people call the spaces.
By internalizing and recreating ignored aspects of the city, I draw attention to the individualization of public spaces, art that is not framed "acceptably" and cultural memes expressed covertly through archaic commercial forms (printed material, signage).
